Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion are commissioned for two-year terms. They serve by invitation of the pastor. They must have received the sacrament of confirmation and be in good standing with the Church. They serve as Extraordinary ministers of the Eucharist at daily and weekend masses, as well as to the Ministry of the Homebound.

Ministry to the Homebound takes communion to the sick and offers communion services at the retired home.

Lectors are trained to proclaim the readings at weekday and at weekend masses and at special parish celebrations.

Acolytes Parishioners who have trained and studied on the various ministries of the Church, Liturgy, Eucharistic Minister, Sacristan, Lector, and Alter Server. Trained and commissioned to assist at the altar with setting the table.

Altar Servers Being an altar server allows youth of our parish to get involved in the mass. Children can be trained after they receive their First Holy Communion, and they can serve through high school. The next training will take place in late spring, after the children receive their First Holy Communion.

The Music Ministry welcomes children, youth and adults to a variety of ensembles. The Children's Choir is active only during the school year. The Children's Choir practices on Saturday at 4:00, and sings on the first Sunday of the month at the 11:00 a.m. Mass. The Youth Band musicians and singers rehearse on Wednesday at 6:15, preparing for the monthly Youth Mass. The Adult Choir rehearses at 7:00 on Wednesday. Cantor training and Schola practices occur on alternate Wednesdays at 8:30 p.m. Rehearsals take place in the church or music room.

Weekend Sacristans are in charge of coordinating set-up of items needed for weekend masses and for assuring that all liturgical ministers are present for mass. Other set up involvement includes weddings, First Friday Devotions, First Saturday masses, funerals and Holy Day of Obligation masses. They also clean and put items away after mass. This is a great ministry for individuals or for couples.

Ushers greet people and assist them in finding seats at mass. They also distribute bulletins, and assist the priest in other ways in the mass.

Greeter Ministry

Sound Board Ministry volunteers run the soundboard during masses. Training is required.

Sewing Group sews in support of Parish Social Ministries.

Linen Ministry takes care of laundering, ironing and folding the linens that are used at both the Sunday and weekday Masses by the presider and the Eucharistic Ministers. The time commitment is a couple of hours every 4-6 weeks and the ministry can be served in your own home at your convenience.
